An eco-village is a community with a goal of becoming more socially, culturally, economically, and/or ecologically sustainable.
So, how does an ecovillage accomplish this goal?
First, people involved in the ecovillage must establish a specific vision and mission that supports these goals. From there, the eco-village can impact a larger community.
It is important to note that this work is never done. Eco-villages are not an end—they are a process. Members of an eco-village must constantly strive to create healthy communities and social capital.
Members must be lifelong learners, seeking out challenges and new ways of thinking that align with the eco-village’s mission and values.
