Join the CSA

Essentially, you’re giving a portion of your food dollars to a local farmer. In turn, the farmer is going to grow food for you, and then give it back. By purchasing a CSA share BEFORE the start of the growing season, you’re giving the farmer the financial means to purchase seeds, soil, compost, or any other supplies needed for success.

Urban Earth Farms’ CSA shareholders receive a weekly share for 25 weeks from May though October. The CSA grows a variety of produce, including many kinds of greens, herbs, eggplant, tomatoes, beets, carrots, peppers, beans, broccoli, cabbage, garlic, potatoes, squash, plums, strawberries, and raspberries. Shares are available for pickup every Saturday morning during the growing season from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Greenhouse Market located at 824 Enright Avenue in the East Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati.

2019 PRICING: We offer four kinds of shares during the 25 week season: May 11 – October 26

Community Potlucks – Once a month, Urban Earth Farms hosts a Community Potluck at Common Roots Pub, located at 3642 W 8th Street, just a hop & a skip away from our greenhouse market. We encourage shareholders to share food made with their CSA ingredients, meet and chat with farm staff, and enjoy the diverse company of Price Hill residents.

Greenhouse Market – At Urban Earth Farms, we have an indoor farm market open to shareholders and the public. You’ll find seasonal foods to enhance your share; produce, eggs, meats, and other delicious wares. All foods sold at our market are either grown by Urban Earth Farms or sourced locally. You can sample new foods, get recommendations and chat about recipes with our staff. We accept cash, credit, and EBT/SNAP.

Transparency – We think it’s important to shake your farmer’s hand! Shareholders are welcome to tour our farm, get their hands dirty, chat with our staff, or even become members of our governing committee. Want to learn about gardening? Come spend the day with us. We’ll put you to work!

Freshness –  You’ll have the privilege of eating vibrant, just-harvested produce. If you’re a part of a CSA, say goodbye to wilted greens and tasteless tomatoes. Your produce will be harvested when it’s ripe and, in most cases, find its way into your kitchen within a day of being picked. This means better flavor and more nutrient-rich produce.

We understand that the CSA model is not affordable for everyone. We also understand that some people just love the fresh smell of the earth (we do too, duh, that’s why we’re farmers)! This is why we offer Workshare options. We are willing to trade your blood, sweat, and tears for delicious, fresh produce. We have two options – Full Work Share, which means you are available on a consistent basis and will dedicate about 2 hours per week throughout the season, or Alternate Week Work Share, which means you may work less consistently, but just as importantly, with our farmer or farm administrator. In exchange for your time, you will only need to pay half the price for the produce. These positions are LIMITED and fill up fast. If interested, please email inquiries & workshare requests to our CSA Coordinator, Gretchen Vaughn, at
